In 2003 SIGMA Group International was basically established as London based UK corporation, by Mr. Aws Al-Orfali (Iraqi-UK citizen). Soon after the war had stopped in Iraq, Mr. Orfali accepted to take the challenge to moving SIGMA's main operations into the Iraqi market. Preliminary, management team formed by Mr. Orfali included some young professionals including Mr. Orfali's two brothers and some old friends.
SIGMA began it's Iraq-business by supplying Base Essential Services, products and support to Coalition Forces and the national economy such as , portable housing units, furniture, air conditioners and other logistic supplies to the Victory Base Complex.

Corporate Overview
By the end of 2003, following a deep professional and thorough business research, SIAGMA's management concluded that, with an eye on Iraq's re-construction master plan, SIGMA should take the first investment initiative by constructing and operating - what was - the 1st concrete ready-mix plant operating right after the war. Since then, SIGMA started its enormous growth, expanding its activities and operations within Iraq's territory by establishing the 1st professional, privately owned, Lubricants Recycling Plant in Iraq, simultaneously with establishing the NAC, an Iraqi National subsidiary, Specialized Mass Transportation&Heavy Equipment Rental Company. By 2005 GST Ltd., another subsidiary was founded in Dubai-UAE to backup SIGMA's ongoing operations in Iraq by providing logistical supplies and special requirements. Last, but not least, in 2007 another Iraqi registered company, Ard Al-Adyat, was founded as a General Trade and Contracting subsidiary, to track SIGMA's continuous growth. SIGMA Group International (SGI) is The Mother Company; it's the brain that control and centralizes all major investment decisions such as creating new businesses and/or developing ongoing ones.
SGI's main duties include, but not limited to, study new business ventures, plan and allocate resources, give the mandates, follow-up though accomplishment and handover.
SGI is also responsible for developing existing business. Such improvements are regularly conducted on different levels, covering all business aspects starting form staff training through funds for assets expansion.
